Happy Birthday Grandma!! and FACEBOOK Addiction...

I have several things to write about today but first I want to talk about the most important one.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!

On Jan 3, 1927, an angel that would touch my life and be with me always, was born - my grandma - Genevieve Lozano Chavarria. Unfortunately she passed a year and a half ago and the Lord took her home. I am joyous in knowing that heaven gained one more angel, but my heart and soul wishes she was here with me.
For those that knew my Grandma, you would know she was a quiet somewhat shy lady, but she had the best laugh in the world! When she laughed you couldn't help but smile or laugh yourself! It was the most beautiful sound in the world! When I think of it now I choke up because I can still hear it in my ears as if she was laughing now.

My Grandma also took very good care of herself! She passed on her "beauty/fashion lessons" on to me! I could hear her now - "Eileen, you should always dress nice, even when you go to the grocery store because you never know who you will see!" And you know what!...she was right! She always loved to try new lotions or eye creams. She told me to always moisturize my face, so I won't get lots of wrinkles. And you know what!...she was right!! No wonder she had such beautiful skin! When my Grandma moved to Orange County from Pasadena, she would complain about how she wasn't used to the busy streets here (hello! more busy then Pasadena?!?), but she somehow managed to drive her 82' Toyota Corolla to the nail place to get her bi-weekly pedicures!

Today is her birthday and she would have been 82 years old. My mom and I went to her grave site today to plant some flowers and place a Happy Birthday balloon and a windmill at her grave. She is buried at Rose Hills Cemetery on the side of a tall hill with a beautiful view overlooking Los Angeles. As we sat there reminiscing about all the funny things about my Grandma, tears rolled down my face and I could feel her presence. As me and my mom sang a little bit of the Happy Birthday song, the wheels on her windmill began to swirl around as the wind blew...it was as if she was saying "Thank You!"

I love you Grandma so much! I thank God that he allowed you to be part of my life! I am proud to be your Granddaughter! And the memories I shared with you will forever and ever be in my heart and mind! You will never ever be forgotten! Happy Birthday!

(Sniff sniff)..ok the tears have been wiped...let's move on!
FACEBOOK
I have a new addiction...FACEBOOK!! It's horrible!! Seriously I call it an addiction because it keeps me from getting things done! I seriously need to be in contact with my friends all day and know what they are doing every second and minute of the day!
I have never had an addiction to anything in my life! People say they are addicted to chocolate, alcohol, smoking, eating, etc. And I never understood those people because I never had the urge or craving to do something ALL the time!! But now I know!!
Whoever invented FACEBOOK sure knew what they were doing! I mean I have friends that downloaded FACEBOOK on their Blackberry and all of a sudden I'll get a post from someone on FACEBOOK via their Blackberry while they are driving (which is against the law by the way!) or while they are in a restaurant waiting for their name to be called for a table!
How did we do it back in the days when there were no cell phones, no Blackberries and NO FACEBOOK! Now I can't even imagine! My New Years resolution is to not log on so much so I can actually get my tush out of the chair, away from the computer and be productive!! So long FACEBOOK!! Oh wait...let me log on one last time! :-)
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!

Oh, My Grandmacitha! I miss her so much. It's funny how it sneaks up on you. I can't wait to see her again!!!!!

Facebook what can I say! Seriously addicting. I've actually been doing really good and logging in 2 or 3 times a day rather than 10 or more times! ahahahah!!
